The Glasgow 2018 European Championships is a new multi-sport event which will be held in Glasgow and Berlin in the summer of 2018.  More than 8000 athletes, officials and media are expected in Glasgow and Scotland with a potential television audience of more than one billion.

Funded jointly by the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council this new event will be organised in partnership with the international and national sports federations for each of the participating sports. The Glasgow 2018 European Championships will allow Glasgow and Scotland to continue to build on the economic, cultural and sporting legacy achieved by staging the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate with major event competition management experience to lead on the Cycling competition for the Glasgow 2018 European Championships.

The Cycling Competition Manager will work within a multi-agency/organisation planning structure, which is key to the success of the Glasgow 2018 European Championships, in particular with Scottish Cycling, British Cycling and the UEC.  They will be responsible for the scoping, planning organising and management of the sport competition and related services across five Cycling disciplines: Road, Time Trial, Track, Mountain Bike and BMX, which make up the European Cycling Championships as part of the 2018 European Championships.

The successful candidate will be employed by Scottish Cycling and based at the Glasgow 2018 Championship offices in Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street, Glasgow.
