A slightly quieter weekend of racing, understandably with the UCI Cycling World Championships commencing this week, but there were plenty of performances to celebrate in Newport and in Maribor.

British Youth and Junior Track Champs

There was an excellent week of racing for Scots at the Geraint Thomas National Velodrome in Newport for the British Youth and Junior Track Championships.

There was a gold medal for Evie White (Alba Development RT) and a British record for Adam Murray (East Kilbride RC)

White's Trinidad-bound Team Scotland teammates Calum Moir (Zappi RT), Sarah Johnson (Edinburgh RC) and Millie Thomson (Deeside Thistle) made their way on to the podium as well, as they put their final preperations in for the Youth Commonwealth Games.

While, James Sweeney (Edinburgh RC), Christina Smith, Issac Small (Deeside Thistle), Anna Birrell (Edinburgh RC) and William Munday (Glasgow Track RC) also claimed medals in Wales.

European Youth Olympic Festival

Flagbearer Erin Boothman (East Kilbride RC) led out the Team GB contingent at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Maribor.

Thunderstorms in the Slovenian capital played havoc with the time trial, with Arabella Blackburn (Deeside Thistle) putting in a solid performance, but the conditions delayed the run of the East Kilbride rider by nearly an hour.

The delay suited the Scot, as she set the fastest time and was only bettered by one rider, for Boothman to claim an excellent silver.

The road race saw an excellent execution of a lead out from Blackburn and Boothman for teammate Abi Miller, as she sprinted to seventh, after the break claimed the medals.

Sam Robertson Memorial Road Race

A classic of the Scottish road racing calendar, the Sam Robertson Memorial took place on Sunday with a full field racing the Regional A race, organised by Glasgow Nightingales CC.

The winning move went away from the field on Dukes Pass with Oliver Dawson (Wolf Cycles) claiming the win from Louis Moore (Wheelbase CabTech CastellI) with Cameron Muir (Wallacehill CC) in third place.

BMX Regional Series

Cumbernauld played host to the latest round of the Scottish BMX Regional Series, with it acting as a final hit out pre-UCI World Champs. You can find the results by clicking below:
