As we enter into December, we thought it was time to take a look back over what's happened in our community over the past 12 months, so we're pleased to share our Annual Report.
Having come through the pandemic, we're delighted that 2022 has been a fantastic year for Scottish Cycling.
A full calendar of events saw 62 Scottish Champions crowned, as well as forray of British and International events travelling to Scotland.
While a record tally of Commonwealth medals at the Brimingham games as well as more riders competing at world class events in multiple disciplines shows that our Performance riders continue to go from strength to strength.
We are still planning for the future; the introduction of the Rock Up and Ride programme and continued investment via the Cycling Facilties Fund sees more resource go towards the grassroots of our sport.
Our Club Development team has been committed to ensuring that we continue to adapt and support the various challenges that clubs are facing, from continued recovery from the pandemic, to the looming cost of living crisis; we must ensure that our messaging, programmes and interventions are timely and meet the needs of all clubs.
This year’s affiliation process allowed clubs to demonstrate their compliance with our Minimum Operating Standards introduced in 2020. Through the support of our team of Club Development Coordinators, and the commitment of clubs, we achieved 100% compliance through 2022’s affiliation process.
While the introduction of a new brand, and increase in digital output has seen our platforms increase in the followers, with six million views on Scottish Cycling content this year.
From Commonwealth medals to Go-Ride and Breeze, 2022 has been fantastic, but with the World's Biggest Cycling Event coming to Scotland next year, we hope to make 2023 even better.
