Domestic Events Strategy 2023-2027 - Draft for Consultation
As the summer season draws to a close and we start to dream of being indoors, or in a very muddy field, we are excited to be looking towards the future.
2023 is going to be an exciting year for the cycling community in Scotland, as we will welcome 13 world championships to Glasgow and Scotland. We hope you are as excited as we are for some incredible racing on our home turf!
As we think about the incredible opportunity that the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships will bring, we have been going through a process to consider domestic racing in Scotland, and how we make it the best it can possibly be.
As part of this process, we are delighted to share with you the Domestic Events Strategy - Draft for Consultation. This strategy will guide Scottish Cycling activity from 2023-2027, aiming to take domestic events in Scotland to a new level, and give everyone the opportunity to experience the thrill of racing and achieve their best.
This strategy has been built based on your feedback and the outcomes of the domestic events strategic review which was led by GSi projects. This included a consultation process which everyone in the Scottish Cycling community had the opportunity to contribute to in late 2021, and early 2022.
The recommendations from this review, which have informed this new strategy, are available to view HERE, alongside the feedback from the community which can be seen HERE.
Whilst we are excited and motivated by the ambition and aspiration in this strategy, we also recognise the need to focus on the basics and ensure strong foundations on which to build and achieve our ambitions. Strong foundations will be a focus and priority throughout this strategic cycle, and underpins this strategy.
