Scottish Cycling is pleased to announce a new bursary for new trainee commissaires and current trainees who attended a course from 2018 onwards.

Commissaires and referees are a vital volunteers at a cycling event. They use their experience to help ensure an event is ran in a safe and fair manner. The start of their officiating journey is as a trainee, where they attend a course and then events around the country to gain experience officiating in the discipline of choice. They do this in their own time and at their own expense and volunteers as not all event organisers can support them with expenses.

As part of our strategy Scottish Cycling is committed to providing support to enable that we have events on our calendar with knowledgeable, supported and empowered people. We have developed this one-off bursary to help support trainees to become qualified officials. This financial assistance could be put towards paying travel costs or overnight accommodation to support a single or multi-day event which they are appointed.

The full bursary description and application form can be found here.
