Scottish Cycling RACE Downhill 2020

Scottish Cycling has launched applications for the RACE Downhill Coaching Programme for 2020.  The programme aims to give youth bike racers an introduction to the skills, fitness and performance behaviours required to compete at a world class level and to be the best riders that they can be.

The programme will kick off in April with a session for male riders and a pilot session for female riders.

Further sessions will be delivered in the Summer and October school holidays with further information being published in due course.

It is likely that we will use venues across Scotland; Dunkeld, Fort William and Innerleithen.

Once again, we will be looking to deliver these sessions with Elite rider Ben Cathro, National Mountain Bike Coach Paul Newnham and HSBC Go Ride Regional Coach Ian Sikora. Added to this we hope to have attendance from other elite riders.

To be a part of this development programme, riders are expected to be fully committed to developing themselves, both on and off the bike, as best as possible throughout the season.  If you would like to be considered for a place on the programme, then please complete the application form at the link below.

To be considered you must:

-        Have previously competed in the SDA and intend on competing in 2020

-        Be a second year Juvenile or Youth male or female rider

-        Have the motivation to be the best rider that you can be
