Weekend Events Preview: 11th/12th January 2020

Shrewsbury | Saturday 11th January

Tom Pidcock 2019 CX Champion

A very competitive field, including some notable Scottish talent, will compete in Shrewsbury this weekend at the HSBC UK Cyclo-Cross National Championships. Sean Flynn and Cameron Mason will be racing in the under 23 men’s event. Cameron will be a contender having been racing at a very high level in Europe with a 7th place a under 23 World Cup to his credit this season. Sean Flynn has a MTB focus but has been building up his cross racing recently with 4th place at the last round of the National trophy.

Anna Flynn will be amongst the favourites to take the junior women’s title after some great performances this year at world cup level. In the junior men Rory Maguire and Corran Carrick Anderson will be looking to medal with Rory the favourite to take the title after winning a number of trophy races plus a fantastic 6th place in the last world cup.

Cross at the Cube Round 2

Glasgow | Sunday 12th January

After the success of Cross at the Cube in November, Glasgow University Cycling Club and Glasgow Riderz are running another Cross at the Cube on Sunday 12th January. There will also be Come and Try Coaching sessions with a 30 minute Adult Beginners race to accommodate those who are new to Cyclocross, or do not feel ready or able to do a full 50 minute race.

Super Saturday 12

Glasgow | Saturday 11th January

The first Super Saturday track event of 2020 kicks off at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome on Saturday. 4 groups will race according to ability.
