Scottish National Hill Climb Championships

Purin Glen | Sunday 13th October  2019

This is the first time the Scottish National Hill Climb has tackled the 1.7 mile climb from Falkland to Craigmead in the Lomond Hills of Fife. This year's hill climb championship couse ascends from the outskirts of Falkland Village to the carpark at Craigmead, situated between East and West Lomond Hills. With a challenging 7.5% gradient and a total of 680ft of assent, this event is bound to test even the best climbers. Race HQ will be at Freuchie Cricket Club where there is parking and changing facilities. The club have organised refreshments there at the prize giving after the event.

Scottish Cycling Endurance Training Camp

Isle of Skye | Sunday 13th October - Thursday 17th October

A group of Scottish Cycling Performance Programme riders will head to the Isle of Skye this weekend for several days of endurance focused training. They will be joined by Scottish Cycling Coaches and members of the team at the Scottish Institute of Sport who will be educating riders in the importance of nutitrion and recovery.

Enhance Coach Development Programme Semiar 1

The new Scottish Cycling coach development programme for coaches working in the talent pathway begins this weekend. The aim of the Enhance Coach Development Programme is to develop coaches with the knowledge, skills and attributes required to be effective within this role and provide them with the necessary tools to support more young riders to realise their full potential. The first cohort of 12 coaches will meet for a day long seminar at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.

UCI 2019 Masters Track Cycling World Championships

Manchester | Saturday 12th October - Friday 19th October

Several Scottish riders will head to the velodrome in Manchester to compete in the Masters Track World Championships this weekend. The riders will vie for the coveted rainbow jerseys over a wide range of events requiring very different strengths and skill sets: from sprints and time trials to pursuits and points races. Special highlights will be the team pursuit and team sprint events covering several age categories.

Fife Regional Youth MTB Series 2019 - Round 2

The Big Tree Campervans Tayside & Fife Regional Youth MTB Series is a multi-discipline race series aimed at children & young people and the second round kicks off this weekend. All races are suitable for a hard-tail mountain bike & will serve as a local introduction to the sport of mountain biking. It would allow young riders to develop a range of MTB skills and try all disciplines of mountain biking.
