Scottish track cyclist John Archibald broke away from the field and stretched his advantage to as much as two minutes and 45 seconds with 10 miles to go at the seventh round of the HSBC UK | National Road Series in Northumberland on Sunday. With the peloton closing in, Archibald gave it everything to claim a sensational victory.

Ain Bugey Valromey Tour - UCi Juniors

Date: 11th - 14th July

Location: Valromey, France

The Scotland Team had a brilliant trip to France, encompassing two stage races. At the Ain Bugey Valromey Tour the boys finished 13th Team overall with a 7th in the General Classification.

UCI Mountain Bike World Cup

Date: 11th - 14th July

Location: Les Gets, France

Les Gets hosted both the Cross Country and Downhill World Cups this weekend with great results for Scottish riders in both. Continuing her brilliant season, Isla Short led the way for the Brits in the elite women’s race, finishing in 33rd place overall against some of the world's best female mountain bikers. Grant Ferguson was also in fine form, posted the best time of the British riders. In the U23, Sean Flynn came 46th in a seriously competitive field.

In the Downhill, Scot Jamie Edmondson took a fantastic 8th place, having scored four top 10 finish in in the five rounds he has competed in.
