Scottish riders named in Great Britain Cycling Team for Track World Cup in France and Canada

British Cycling has today revealed the riders for the opening two rounds of the competition - in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France this weekend (October 19-21) and Milton, Canada (October 26-28).

Round 1: Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines

Two-time Track World Cup champion Mark Stewart, who stormed to a sensational points gold for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in April, will feature at both events. Paisley boy Jack Carlin will also compete at the Paris Velodrome, hoping to beat his previous best of silver on the world stage. Having taken the European team pursuit gold at the Glasgow European Games in August, Neah Evans will be making up the pursuit team alongside Megan Barker, Emily Kay and Rebecca Raybould.

Round 2: Milton

Rio 2016 Olympic champion and Commonwealth gold medalist Katie Archibald will race on the track where she claimed two first place finishes in Madison and the points race in Milton last year.

Katie has also been nominated for The UWS Sportswomen of the Year Award. You can vote for her here.

Team Scotland Commonwealth Games riders John Archibald and Jonny Wale will also be riding both rounds with their team Hubb/Wattbike. The team, have been vocal about their ambitions to dominate at the Tissot UCI World Cup Series.
