Alexis Urie volunteered at Glasgow 2014, Scottish Cycling Track events and has signed up for Glasgow 2018, she said:
“If anyone is thinking of volunteering, but not sure... just go for it! It is the most amazing feeling being part of something as big as this. You are part of an amazing team, and feel so proud of helping to create a spectacular sporting event. No matter what role you are doing, it is vital to the overall success of the games. You will be made very welcome, and anything that you can do to help will be appreciated. My life has opened up beyond my imagination thanks to being a volunteer.”
Ashley Ryan, Cycling Legacy Development Officer at Scottish Cycling said
“We want as many people from the Scottish Cycling community to get involved in Glasgow 2018. So if whether you’ve volunteered before or are a complete newbie sign up! You could be helping marshal at the Cross Country Mountain Biking, running results at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, being rider whip at the BMX or driving at the Road events. You never know where volunteering will take you!”
