Scottish Cycling has launched applications for the Regional Academy of Cycle Education (RACE) Downhill Training Sessions for 2017.

Following the success of the RACE Downhill training session in 2016 (click to read the report), Scottish Cycling will organise the delivery of 3 blocks of 2 training sessions in Spring, Summer and Autumn.

The sessions will be coached by Elite Rider, Ben Cathro and Scottish Cycling National Coach, Paul Newnham with support from other coaches and expert riders.

With a similar format to last year, the sessions will take place in Dunkeld, Fort William and around Aviemore.  This will give a good mix of terrain, trails and also provide an opportunity to take riders into the classroom to go through theory on what it takes to be successful as an elite level rider.

In a change from last year, Scottish Cycling are asking for applications from riders in order to be considered for selection to attend the training.

The first dates are the 6th and 7th of April with further dates still to be confirmed.  Applicants must be riding Youth age group this year.
