Sir Chris Hoy and Evans Cycles continue their support of youth development with the HOY Future Stars

The HOY Future Stars registration is now open for the 2016 Revolution Series, with the first round of the competition kicking off in Manchester on September 17.

The junior competition provides invaluable experience for 15 and 16-year-old riders in Britain, to race across the country in front of capacity crowds at Revolution.

This year the competition will run across the five UK events in the UK Championship and Champions League. The Champions League round in Paris will host a stand-alone Future Stars competition for French junior riders. 

2016 will mark the fourth year of the partnership with HOY and Evans Cycles as they continue to invest in developing the next generation of cyclists in the UK.

Sir Chris Hoy said, ” I am delighted we are continuing to support the Revolution Series with the HOY Future Stars competition. Part of our ethos is to encourage the next generation of Olympic and World Champions and the Future Stars competition is clearly a great way of doing this - just look at the top cyclists who’ve won it in the past.”

Notable riders who have taken part in the competition include; Peter Kennaugh, Simon Yates and Steven Burke. Burke, who won the first ever Future Stars competition during the 2004-05 season, will compete in the Rio Olympics this week, hoping to add a second team pursuit gold medal to his collection.

Glasgow's Lewis Stewart took the over win in the HOY Future Stars boy's compeititon last year alongside Jessica Roberts in the girl's.

Both are on the British Cycling Junior Academy and Jessica went on to win bronze in the Omnium this July at the Junior European Track Championships.

The HOY Future Stars competition is open to youth riders with experience of competing at a national level and will close on Friday August 26. For more information and to sign up, please click here.
