This weekend is the final round of the Scottish Cycling Alba Series: The Billy Warnock Memorial Road Race.

The event run by Falkirk Bike Club will also incorporate the Scottish Cycling East & Central Regional Road Race Championships – so a lot to contend for.

The event starts from Grangemouth Rugby Club on Glensburgh Road, Grangemouth, and takes the riders on a 9.1 mile loop which riders must do 8 loops of before crossing the finish line.

With all to race for,  Alba Series contenders David Lines (Wheelbase Altura MGD), Steven Lawley (Metaltek Cuota Racing Team) and Phil Trodden (Bikehaus by Ridley/The Racers) will be working hard to take those top place points and the winners jersey.

However with a strong field of 74, including elite team Planet X, all fighting for various titles and podium places - it will be an exciting race to watch, and take part in.

The Billy Warnock Road Race is in memory of the late Billy, of Falkirk Bike Club; a great friend to many and a great rider on the bike.  He competed in the Milk Race and in 1967 he finished 2nd overall and won the last stage, Dundee to Glasgow, on a loan breakaway.
