The Scottish Cyclo-Cross series began with round one, the Cross at Callendar on Sunday and it was Robert Wardell who drew first blood, crossing the line first.
The 29-year-old Glasgow rider managed to open up a comfortable gap in the race at Callendar Park in Falkirk and he went on to beat his closest competitor, David Lines (Starley Primal Pro Cycling by 14 seconds.
Jack Ravenscroft of Team Thomsons Cycles was further behind in third, 42 seconds down on Wardell.
Anne Ewing won the women’s category, the WV Breda rider 41 seconds ahead of second placed Kerry MacPhee (Rock and Road Cycles). Lucy Grant (Peebles CC) finished third.
In the veterans 40-49 race, Gary McCrae (Leslie Bike Shop) took a narrow four-second win over Colin May (VC Edinburgh) and Hans Forhaug (Glasgow United CC) was third.
Brendan Roe (Leslie Bike Shop) won the veteran 50+ category and Sian Tovey (Dooleys Cycles) was top of the veteran women.
Andrew Vettraino (Glasgow Riderz) was top junior male and top junior female was Erika Allen (Team Thomsons Cycles).
