British Cycling in partnership with Scottish Cycling, the governing body for cycling in Scotland, now has an all-new package for fans to get behind the sport and show their support for the world’s best cyclists.
The British Cycling Fan is an all new package of benefits for cycling fans to get unrivalled access to the best of the GB Cycling Team, competitions and all the lastest from the Scottish Cycling world.
People who sign up to become an official British Cycling Member or Fan will get exclusive offers, including advance priority ticket sales for Britain’s premier cycling events, including the Track World Cup. For just £20 a year, official fans will also be given exclusive access to GB and Scottish Cycling Team training sessions, getting up close to their cycling heroes, as well as the chance to enter money can’t buy competitions.
Commenting on the launch, Britain’s most successful ever Olympian, and Commonwealth Games Gold medallist Sir Chris Hoy, said:
“Racing and winning in front of a home crowd is the greatest experience that any athlete could ever dream of. British fans are amongst the greatest in the world and cycling is a sport that we’re really excelling at. The launch of British Cycling Fan is an acknowledgement that the sport is now mainstream and in an incredibly exciting place. As British Cycling’s first official Fan, Olympic champion and BBC sports presenter, Jonathan Edwards said:
“I’ve loved watching the outstanding successes of our British cyclists over the last few years. As a fan of cycling, I am really looking forward to showing my support this summer and getting behind the team. I’ll be watching from the sidelines and cheering loudly for our heroes as they cross the line!”
To coincide with the launch, British Cycling has also today launched a nationwide search for Britain’s Best Cycling Fan. The governing body is calling on cycling fans nationwide to demonstrate how committed they are to following the sport with one lucky fan winning an ultimate fan experience package at the Tour of Britain.
Cycling enthusiasts are being asked to tell British Cycling just why they are Britain’s Best Cycling Fan. The best stories and personalities will be featured on Scottish and British Cycling’s website and social media channels with monthly prize draws throughout the summer as the cycling fan community builds.

“Last week Scottish Cycling was delighted to announce our largest ever cycling team for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, consisting of 34 athletes that will compete on home soil come July, including Scottish cyclist David Millar, who will also be competing in the Tour de France.
Since the Commonwealth Games in Delhi there has been a dramatic rise in participation in cycling throughout Scotland and we are delighted to include some exciting, emerging talent as part of our team for Glasgow.
