Hill-Climb: Robbins storms to Dores victory

Talented junior rider Kieran Robbins (East Sutherland CC) secured a narrow victory in the Dores hill-climb in the Highlands of Scotland, promoted by Moray Firth CC on Saturday morning.

The 16-year-old clocked 10-30 for the 2.2-mile climb, and took the win just five seconds ahead of runner-up Gregor Grant (Moray Firth CC) – who lives in Inverness and is 40 years his senior at 56 years old.

The final podium spot in the event went to Alford-based Mark Munro (Cairngorm CC) who clocked 11-16 which was 15 seconds faster up the climb than his nearest rival, Alan McCaffrey (Ross-shire Roads CC).

Fastest female – and a noteworthy fifth overall – was Rhona Grant (unattached) with 12-09, 32 seconds quicker than the next best woman.
