Paul Cheetham (iOptix) sprinted out of a group of three to take his first win of the season at round ten of the Litherland Circuit League in Liverpool.

Cheetham, 44 and from Middleton, has had a string of good results on the track, road and closed circuit races which has left him within reaching distance of his first category licence.

He beat junior Mark McGavock (Southport CC) into second with John Findley (Bill Nicksons Cycles RT) came in third.

In the 4ths and women race it was Chris Taylor (Bury Clarion) who beat Ruth Taylor (Manchester Whls) in a two-up sprint with Andrew Whalley (unattached) coming in third.

In the youth races there was wins for Chris Fallon in the under 16 boys race, Louise Colyner in the under 16 girls, Luke Cheetham in the under 14 boys and Savannah Morgan in the under 14 girls.

There was also wins for George Elliot in the under 12s, Tyler Lloys in the under 10 boys, Niamha Albones in the under 10 girls and Tom Elliot in the under 8s.
