Location: Hanbury, Staffordshire
Event: 18 March 2012
Report: Snowdon Sports

Charging clear on the finishing climb, Tom Lowe (Kingsnorth International Wheelers) took the honours in Derby Mercury RC’s 50-mile road race in Staffordshire.

Some 40 riders were still in contention coming to the foot of the 0.8-mile long haul to the line – 1 in 7 at its steepest – after four and a half laps of the Hanbury circuit in a race which began in snow and ended in sunshine.

As it all strung out 20-year-old Lowe, from Derby, had the measure of the rest to cross the line ahead of James Allen (Sheffrec CC) and Richard Binks (Clay Cross RT).
