A down-to-the-wire bunch sprint in the packed city centre of Sheffield saw Dean Downing (Madison Genesis) take his first win of the series - he's been there or thereabouts most of the season and he won the Beaumont Trophy round of the Premier Calendar but this was his first win in the Elite Circuit Series His brother Russ Downing (Team Netapp-Endura), the newly crowned circuit race champion came home in third place and sandwiched in between them was Graham Briggs (Team Raleigh), the overall winner of this series in 2012.
However, 2013 saw a new overall winner, George Atkins (100% ME) who's ever-consistent run of form included a win at Round 2, the Stockton Velo29-Altura Town Cenre Race and it put him as the only rider on more than 200 points.
Graham Briggs (Team Raleigh) and Felix English (Rapha-Condor-JLT) round out the top three overall both on 196 points but with Graham getting second due to his higher placing on the final night.
