The sixth running of the West Drayton Mountain Bike club's Black Park Cross-Country event is on the 13th March 2011. The event which caters for all standards including beginners features the Bucks offroad sportive sponsored Single speed event carrying a £150 cash prize for first place as well as the customary Single speed prize of a crate of Beer.

The two big names entered so far and likely to be battling it out to take the money are Matt Page and Rob Lee but neither are eligible to take the coveted title of London Single speed champion prize, which will go the first rider living within the M25 boundary.

Thanks to generous sponsorship from the concept store in Ruislip, club sponsors Beyond Mountain Bikes, RRP and The feed station all categories have some great prizes to race for with last year's Elite winner Jody Crawforth the firm favourite to take top honours once again this year. Go Ape have come up trumps for the youth winners who will get a free session on the high wire course in the park.

The promoting club have already got 44 of their own members taking part, a number of them racing for the first time so a sea of black and yellow jerseys cna be expected in the fun event. Conditions at the venue with a week to go were good. The course is 3.5 miles long and should be firm and fast. There is a hard standing car park, proper toilets and catering close to the start within the park.

On line entry closes on the 9th March and is available at http://www.xcracer.com - Entry on the day will be available for a surcharge. Full race details and timings
