Notts & Derby Cyclocross League seeks volunteers

After another successful season the Notts & Derby Cyclocross League finds itself urgently looking for volunteers for many key roles so that it can continue into the 2016/17 season.

The league officers provide a significant amount of support behind the scenes to event organisers ensuring that it remains one of the biggest and best in the UK and hundreds of riders of all ages and ability take part at every event, for many it is their first taste of competitive cycling.

But NDCXL is a not-for-profit organisation and is run entirely by volunteers - it urgently needs your help to allow it to continue welcoming these riders and providing the professional level of event promotion that its regulars take for granted.

At the recent AGM several officers stood down from their posts and no replacements were recruited at the meeting, without people to run the League it will not be able to operate.

This does not have to be onerous - it could be as simple as taking notes at a meeting a few times a year - although those looking for more of a challenge would be warmly welcomed too. Without a minimum of six more volunteers the league will not be able to continue in its current form.

To discuss the potential closure of the League, an EGM has been arranged for 1:30pm on Saturday 14th May at the John Goober Centre in Hucknall. If your club is affiliated to the NDCXL, please ensure that you are represented at the meeting. Each affiliated club has two votes to help shape the League, but with those votes come responsibilities to keep your League alive.

Information about how you can support is available on the NDCXL website.

The EGM agenda will follow soon. You can also keep in touch via Facebook and Twitter.
