With Spring just around the corner, it's the perfect time to think about getting back on your bike. One of the best ways to re-invigorate your cycling and give it a new, sharper focus is to join a club.

There's nothing more likely to help you keep your New Year's cycling resolution going into February than the knowledge that your cycling club-mates are waiting for you to join them.

Joining a club is also a great way to learn new skills and improve your riding – if you're a Sportive rider, you can improve your ability to ride in a group. Mountain bikers can similarly pick up skills and find new trails from club mates.

And, of course, building your fitness is always easier if you have other people both to drag you out into the cold and wet, but also to inject a bit of pace into the rides, encouraging you to do likewise.

If you are a young rider looking and that all sounds a bit daunting, British Cycling's Go-Ride club network offers you the chance to advance your cycling in a safe, controlled, traffic-free environmentt. For parents, these clubs also offer an opportunity to get involved as a volunteer.
