IT Technician

Salary Band 2 (£18k- £23k per annum, depending on experience)

British Cycling is the internationally recognised sports governing body for cycling in the UK and our continued growth is built on the successful delivery of results at elite level and a strong focus on developing the grass roots of our sport.

The organisation also runs the highly successful Great Britain Cycling Team, who played a leading role in Team GB's impressive medal-winning performance at the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008. With the London 2012 Olympics now only 3 years away, British Cycling will be an exciting place to work, with the organisation at the centre of a once-in-a-generation opportunity to develop the sport.

The role

To provide 1st and 2nd line support for internal and external users of the British Cycling IT infrastructure. Act as first point of contact for all IT helpdesk queries and Interact with internal clients on all levels to help resolve IT related issues and provide answers in a timely manner.


You must have excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills, excellent communication and organisation skills and experience of supporting internal and remote users. You will also need to have commercial experience of working in a technical support role and have a good knowledge of Windows XP and Microsoft Office along with experience of supporting hardware, software and peripherals. Some experience of Windows Servers would be highly beneficial.

All of our permanent employees are provided with the Gold Membership of British Cycling. Our hours of work are 37.5 per week.
