Name:

Jess Hayes

Age:

25

From:

Brisbane, Australia – now East London

Club:

Velociposse

What kind of riding do you do?

Track, road, cyclocross (when I am feeling adventurous).

What do you enjoy most about cycling?

What DON’T I love about cycling? Lately, my favourite thing has been the people I have met and the friendships I have built.

My team, Velociposse, is a super inclusive group of girls who want to learn things, share knowledge, and just have fun riding bikes – that feeling of camaraderie is awesome.

I also love the stress-relief aspect, and feeling myself getting stronger all the time.

What’s your favourite ride?

Herne Hill Velodrome, Lee Valley VeloPark.

What’s your top cycling tip to share?

Keep going!! When your head says stop, use your legs and push through. (It’s tough, and even I have trouble remembering that!)

If you had a tandem, who would you like to ride it with?

Gus Morton (Jelly Belly-Maxxis pro cyclist), because he looks like he’d drink some beers with me afterwards.
