Event Overview
The Braveheart Ride is a fantastic opportunity for you to contribute directly to the development of Scotland's future cycling champions. All proceeds raised from the event go to up and coming Scottish cycling talent.The Braveheart Fund provides financial assistance to 10 - 15 riders each year enabling them to train and compete at their highest level within the sport.
This year's Ride takes in some of the attractive scenery on offer in both East Ayrshire & East Renfrewshire. Leaving Kilmarnock, the route travels up through Waterside village, before the climb over Ballageich Hill. A fast descent then takes us down to the edge of Eaglesham, before we turn onto another climb up Bonnyton Moor to the golf course at the top. Descending again we then skirt Newton Mearns, travelling through the dams above Neilston, before an undulating section towards Dunlop. We then turn briefly onto the B769, before the drag up Clunch Road to the A77, when we then retrace our route back to Kilmarnock.
The event entry fee will include a commemorative medal and each rider will also receive a food voucher for pasta & a hot or cold drink.
