About the Event

Info for Riders

BealachnaBà is a historic pass through the mountains of the Applecross peninsula, in Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands. The Bealach is the UK’s biggest road climb at 2053ft (626m) from sea level in just 6mls (10k). It is set in a fabulous unspoilt landscape with outstanding views of the sea and the hills. The Applecross Peninsula is renowned as a gem in Scotland’s crown of natural wonders. The idea of a sportive ride up the Bealach belongs to local cycling legend Clifford Davidson. Over the years the event has proved extremely popular and, because of road restrictions, there are limited places. We have decided to have two events at different times of the year; The Bealach Beag has been introduced over the shorter distance of 43 miles, whilst The Bealach Mor, held in September, retains the original route of 90 miles.
