The Burgess Hill Springtime Classic Cyclosportive 3rd March 2012

www.srs-events.cc

Don't miss this chance to take part in one of the best early season cyclosportives in the country.

There are three great routes to choose from on the Springtime Classic Cyclosportive, they are :-

Classic Route 71 miles

Is the hardest route and an excellent route for testing early season fitness for keenest of cyclosportive aficionado.

This route takes in all the climbs and long descents this cyclosportive has to offer as it travels over the different parts of Ashdown Forest and and part of the Weald area of Sussex and Kent.

Noteable hills are Pillow mounds hill, kidds Hill know locally as "THE WALL", Groombridge hill now renamed Col du Groombridge, and then the now infamous Cob Lane Hill  which is a short but steep 20% climb and  finally the hills over Ardingly resovoir are close to the end of the ride.

Challenge Route 54 miles

This route avoids Groombidge Hill and the obvious extra miles of the Classic route. The route is achievable by most fit cyclist and beginners who have ridden 50 miles in training should not be affraid to attempt this route.

Tour Route 36 miles

The tour route avoids most of the hills on the Springtime Classic but this is not to say it hasn't got it's fair share of hills. It is a good route to choose if you are attempting your first Cyclosportive and are not quite fit enough yet to tackle longer distances.

THE COB

All routes have Cob lane hill in them. This is a short and sharp hill of 20% gradient which many riders on the Springtime Classic have to resign themselves to taking the "walk of shame" up. In reality there is no shame in walking up this hill  it is tough hill to tackle, but thankfully short in stature.
