Registered Sportive

Event Summary

Event Overview

The MEGA is an event ideal for Etape training or tougher continental events.Smile

Perfect for testing your climbing legs and endurance. For those wanting a good challenging ride try the MINI at only 78 miles has a taste of the big climbs and follows much of the Mega route.

Following the 2012 poor weather and the re-run of these events we are pleased to announce that we are back again for 2013 with same start and finish venue, allowing us to open the entries up to 1000 riders for this oversubscribed sportive

Again we will be using the excellent facilities of Uttoxeter Racecourse Paddock Pavilion for the signing on and registration and to collect your numbers and timing chips with tea and coffee for all riders before the start.

The massive FREE car parking and a better route taking in 80% of the traditional route into the lower Peaks plus a couple of extra hills to make this a real “Monster “that will test early fitness.

We will continue to keep the 2 routes and offer 2 well stocked feeds for both rides at the traditional stops of Top of Stanton Bank and Ashbourne Leisure Centre. We will of course offer a ride snack on your return to the finish.

Many extras will be on offer to riders with backing from the Shimano and a full mechanical workshop at the start and our unique BMW SERVICE motorcycle out and about on the course to keep riders going.

Wheels in Wheels will continue to use their successful arrow routing on every turn with a 200m confirmation sign along with safety and warning signage to advise riders of hazards en route.

The rides will be fully timed and bike numbers will allow our photography team to capture your efforts.

There is camping and caravan facilities on the Racecourse through the Caravan club of GB
