Go The Extra Mile Sportive

Cycle Sportive , Kent – Sunday, 24 Mar 2013

Event Summary

Event Overview

All rides and registration will start at Holiday Extras, Ashford road, Newingreen, Hythe, Kent. CT21 4JF   (postcode for sat nav is CT21 4JA)

3 Rides on the day:

Longer ride – 64 miles   - £20 registration fee

For those wanting a good, hard Sunday morning ride, this is the route for you. With hill climbs totalling 3,750 ft, you will be happy to reach the food stations on route where a good selection of energy foods await you.  Sticking to relatively ‘car-free’ roads, this route takes you through the very scenic landscape of Kent, of rolling farmland hills and meadows. But just remember, with every steep uphill, there comes an exhilarating downhill..! Make sure your breaks won’t let you down at this point!!

Shorter ride – 33 miles  -  £20 registration fee

This is a shorter ride, but still comes with a few challenges. The first section of the ride will see you climbing up some steady hills reaching 590ft, until you hit Wye where we’ll have a food station waiting for you along with toilets. For this route, this is the point you’ll be heading back home. Making your way back through some beautiful rolling farmland hills and countryside and avoiding all the main roads where possible, this is a good work out for anyone, but won’t take you all day to ride it.

Family ride – 6 miles   -   £5 individual registration fee or £15 for a family .

This ride is designed for all those who want to take part in this fun day but prefer to take it at a leisurely pace.  Departing from Holiday Extras, you will follow this gentle ride at a pace suitable to you. A fairly flat route, avoiding main roads where possible.
