Event Summary

Event Overview

The Commuter Belt Classic – Saturday 10th May 2013, Wotton-on-Stone – Dalston

Following on from the success of the critically acclaimed West Riding Classic inYorkshire, we have added The Commuter Belt Classic to our calendar. The Commuter Belt Classic is a 50 mile point-to-point sportive which meanders the forgotten by-ways of Hertfordshire and Essex before finishing in Dalston in Hackney. For a seasoned sportive rider this is a great sprint from country to city, for newcomers this is an excellent entry in to the world of sportive riding.

ForLondonbased riders, the day starts by catching the train from either King's Cross orFinsburyParkto Wotton-on-Stone. After registration we then arc across and down the Lea Valley on empty country roads, passed poppie fields and over fords before descending into London and Hackney from Epping. Once in Dalston you'll be welcomed with a complimentary meal and hot drinks for the riders, free tea and coffee all day for any support drivers/spouse/parents/siblings and a disco. Registration is at Wotton-on-Stone so non-London based riders can either head straight to the start at Wotton or park any vehicles inLondonbefore catching the train.

Rough Rider produce safe, relaxing and beautiful supported cycle rides. Whether it’s your first ride outside of the city centre commute, or you are a seasoned sportive rider, all our routes our clearly sign posted, are safely managed and include feed station at the end of the course to provide free nourishment and refreshment.

"The West Riding Classic is destined to become just that – a classic event and a must-do on the sportive calendar, exploiting the Yorkshire Dales’ finest cycling roads and offering a unique, friendly, authentic experience". British Cycling..
