About the Event

Info for Riders

In celebration of the world's toughest sporting event 'Le Tour de France' we will be holding our annual Le Tour de Staveley on Saturday 07 July 2012. It will be the 7th running of our annual social Road Sportive for all abilities and the course is set to be another good test of the legs on the quiet lanes of South Lakeland. Both the Le Tour 'tough' route and the more gentle Le Petit take in the rolling countryside of Underbarrow, Brigsteer and the pan-flat Lyth Valley with the peloton on the long course then hitting the 20% Tower Top climb. The tough course then takes in High Newton, Field Broughton, Haverthwaite, and then the Furness Fells loop around Oxen Park before tackling the famous 'Bianchi Strada' - a white gravel climb with stunning views over Lake Windermere.
