Event Overview

SSSCCRRL - THE HANDICAP RACING LEAGUE

What is SSSCCRRL - The Handicap Racing League

SSSCCRRL is a long standing handicap road racing league stemming back to the previous decade - It exists to promote inclusive road racing and a grassroots entry point for newer or less experienced riders - whilst also having the ability to provide a good race for established racers whilst ensuring that all riders have "a race to compete in" even if "faster" riders catch and drop the first groups.

What is Handicap Racing?

Handicap racing is a fun, inclusive form of road racing - Groups are set of an ability groups with an aim of trying to stay away from the "faster" group behind. This provides some fun interesting engaging scenarios and provides a really fun entry point into road racing. Handicap racing allows higher cat riders and newer less experienced riders the opportunity to race together without the fear of being dropped immediately that normal road racing incurs.

What are the GC Categories?

We want all riders to have something to aim for - whether your brand new or an established racer. Therefore we provide the following General classification categories sponsored by JTP Performance Coaching - Junior, Senior, Women's, Vet40, Vet50, Vet60+

ROUND THREE INFORMATION

HQ Loc:
Halfpenny Green Airport, DY75DY
Ample car parking - HQ is within the airport entrance - easily visible - Parking to the right on the hardstanding.
Hosting Club: Stourbridge CC

Course Information:

Also known as Enville, Bobbington is another mainstay of the West Midlands road scene, in use for many years, and favouring the stronger riders who can climb and sprint. The toughest section is the 3km drag from the village of Bobbington to the Six Ashes pub, and this is followed by a rapid descent back to the valley. The breaks tend to go on the “heavy” little pull up past Highgate Common just before the finish. - SSSCCRRL Course's
