Glasgow Nightingale is pleased to once again promote the "Lake of Menteith APR's" event consisting of 2 races...one for Women only, followed by an Open event for allcomers. The APR format, with its staggered start, and grouped by ability, is an ideal "taster" event for those novice racers.

The Women's race will start at 9:30am, followed by the Men's/Open race  at 12:30pm.

Race HQ will once again be at Balfron High School Campus, G63 OPW; doors open at 8am.

The Women's race will consist of 1 lap of the Lake of Menteith circuit - 23mls/37km

• The APR is essentially a handicap race whereby small groups of riders start at different times, with stronger riders starting later, with the scratch group starting last. The aim is to keep away from the group behind or catch the group in front. As with any race, the first person who crosses the line is the winner, but it pays to work together to keep away or chase more efficiently.
