Event Summary

Event Overview

Struggle Moors is one of the UK's toughest sportives in Yorkshire. Struggle Moors will take place on 16 June 2024

Although this epic feat may feel frightful, with preparation, pacing and plenty of fuel it's achievable for any aspiring road cyclist.

The route has been dubbed as one of the hardest sportives in the UK, with riders continuing their training following Struggle Dales to take on this monster event. Cycling Weekly reviewed it as: "One of the best days out and something to aspire to.”

The Route

New Route for 2024! With a new start location in the fantastic, cosmopolitan market town of Helmsley, the route will now head over the stunning Bransdale Moor and Blakey Ridge. These are some of the most beautiful cycling roads in the North York Moors National Park. The big challenge of the day is Rosedale Chimney Bank halfway round. New for 2024 is the "Escape Route" that goes "the long way round" for empty legs looking to avoiding this brutal ascent.

The route then takes riders into the undulating Howardian Hills for a rollercoaster ride back towards Helmsley. The sting in the tail (and there always is a sting in the tail on a Struggle Event) is White Horse Bank at the very end. From there, riders can roll down into the finish for a well-earned beer and burger at Duncombe Park.

Another new additional for 2024 is a 100km route that provides riders with a taster of Struggle Moors.
