Event Summary

Event Overview

The Hawick Belles Breeze Group are delighted to invite you once again to join them and other women to cycle on quiet roads in the Scottish Borders, taking in the breathtaking scenery our borderland has to offer.

This year we are excited to announce we will be offering two new routes.  We are surrounded by such beautiful views and roads, we thought it would be the ideal opportunity to share them with you. We will have two options, approx 29 miles and approx 43 miles taking in the views of Ruberslaw, the Eildons and Penielheugh. Entries open on the British Cycling website on the 14th February 2024 priced at £30.00 plus booking fee.  Entries close 22nd May 2024.  We won’t be able to accept entries after this date.

There will be a maximum entry of 150 and because we are raising money for charities there will be no refunds if you're unable to attend.

There will be a feed station on route and at the end, a scrumptious cream tea along with a wee momento for every participant. (please let us know if you have any dietary requirements).

Registration will be at The Pavillion Cafe in Wilton Park, Hawick which is also where you can refuel after your pedal.

The route will leave from the Walled Gardens behind Wilton Park and will be sign posted with marshals along the way.  The route will take you out of Hawick into the beautiful countryside, cycling past Roberton and beyond to the Leaplins which is a favourite of the Hawick Belles.  The route will take you to Lilliesleaf where this year our feedstation will be before the route splits.  The longer route will take you on some beautiful quaint roads, before rejoining the route which takes both options through Minto, along past Denholm Beach and back into Hawick.

The route is rolling with a few climbs but it's all in the challenge. When you've company, great scenery and quiet roads, it will fly by.

This year we are raising money for two worthwhile causes, the Marie Curie Hawick Fundraising Group who will be there to assist you at the feedstation, and also the Multiple Sclerosis Borders Group.  With the help of our wonderful volunteers, we’re sure to bring you another fantastic event. We hope you will join us and help more women get on their bikes while helping great local charities.
