Join us for the Moor 2 Moor Challenge – our 3rd annual ultimate cycling event, taking in the rugged beauty of Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor whilst helping to raise funds for national and local charities.


This exhilarating event offers two distinct rides to cater to cyclists of all levels:

Ride 1 is the classic Moor2Moor Challenge “The Big One" 200km (124 miles) taking in the scenery of both Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor with a leg sapping 3500m of climbing!

Ride 2 - “Just one Moor” is 100km (62 miles) with 700m of climbing. Following the Bodmin Moor leg of the "Big One" to Kelly Bray, and then returning to Launceston.

Start and finish your cycling adventure in Launceston - the ancient capital of Cornwall. Both routes are fully signposted.

Westgate Deli will be serving a delicious breakfast at the registration point in Launceston town square. En-route you can re-fuel at our amazing feed station at Golberdon.

Both rides finish at historical Launceston Castle, where every participant will receive a goody bag, including a t-shirt sponsored by Launceston Cycles and a can of craft beer sponsored by Firebrand Brewing Co. There’s also post ride food available- book at registration.

About the Event

Info for Riders

This self supported ride is not for the faint hearted but is truly a bucket list achievement; once completed you can say you’ve conquered the Moor 2 Moor Challenge!

Registration on the day will be in Launceston Town Square, and will be open from 6.30am, with the M2M ride departing between 7am and 7.30am and the Bodmin ride between 7.30am and 8.30am.

Free car parking is available at all car parks in the town, the multi Storey car park backing on to the Town Hall being the nearest. 

Secure storage for any bags and/or equipment will be available  for the duration of the day. Tea, Coffee, bacon rolls etc are available to purchase in the Town Hall prior to the start of the rides.

Places are limited to the first 150 riders. To register, click on the link below and follow the instructions selecting which ride you’d like to take part in, T-shirt size and any food or camping options. The entrance fee is £40 for the M2M and £30 for the Bodmin Moor Rides.

Overnight camping is available to those who would like to make a weekend of it and bring the family to enjoy our ancient town and its many attractions.

Food  provided after the ride by Westgate Street Deli is at a cost of £8/head and will have 3 options of meat, vegetarian or vegan.

Your entry fee covers the following:

  • A fully Risk Assessed route including rider briefings.
  • Secure storage of equipment for the day
  • One food stop in Golberdon hosted by the WI, eat as much cake and drink as much tea/coffee as you like. Toilets are available here too.(10am until 2pm)
  • Please note other suitable stops on the route of the ride will be notified to you, these will be self funded by the riders. It is important that you are self fueled for the remainder of the ride.
  • A broom wagon will be available on the day for anyone experiencing trouble
  • A limited mobile mechanical support will be available
  • Both routes will be signed at each junction
  • A free can of Firebrand Brewery’s stunning alcohol free beer will be provided to all competitors on completion of the ride (Launceston Castle is an alcohol free area)
  • A free M2M T-Shirt sponsored by Launceston Cycles Ltd.

A significant part of the proceeds of the event will go to Sarcoma UK, a cancer charity which Launceston Velo have supported in the past and will continue to do so going forward.
