The Gayford Flyer 2023. Sunday, 10^th September. (Closing date – Midnight, 3rd September.)

60 miler & 30 miler - entry £15.

Hadleigh Cycling Club has successfully organised 6 sportives with over 1200 participants.   

We are very keen to encourage cyclists to try out the many lightly-trafficked routes around Hadleigh.  Details of the Hadleigh Cycling map and the many routes in our rural hinterland can be found at www.hadleighcyclingclub.co.uk/maps

The Gayford Flyer 2023 will reflect this philosophy and we have devised two routes of around 60 and 30 miles which incorporate mostly quiet roads close to Hadleigh, with some great views and the odd challenge. (Full details of the routes will be published on our website, in advance of the sportive.)

Info for Riders

The Gayford Flyer named in recognition of Hadleigh's world record breaking aviator, Oswald Gayford. The routes will take riders past landmarks including the Gayford family home, Oswald Gayford's final resting place in Naughton Churchyard and RAF Wattisham (where he served as commander). The routes will be signed and once you have crossed the finish line you can celebrate your achievement with family and friends while enjoying post-race food, drink, entertainment.

Helmets compulsory.

All riders under 18 must submit a consent form completed by their parent/guardian (forms will be supplied by the event organisers prior to event). Riders under 16 must also be accompanied by a parent/guardian with a valid entry.

There will be no entries on the day.
