About the Event

Info for Riders

The 74 mile route is smooth tarmac, as much as Aberdeenshire roads can be considered smooth, all the way with participants mainly cycling on quiet B roads other than two small sections on the A950 and A920. The route will be fully signed and there will be two feed stations along the route, with approximately equidistant sections.

The 51 mile gravel route has a few new gravel sections not previously used with participants cycling on quiet B roads, farm tracks, estate paths, forest gravel roads and purpose built cycle paths (disused railway lines) throughout North Aberdeenshire. The route will be fully marked with busier junctions also marshalled by our team. There will be a feed station approximately halfway round the route.

The 23 mile gravel route is similar to previous years with all participants cycling on quiet B roads, farm tracks, estate paths, forest gravel roads and purpose built cycle paths (disused railway lines) throughout North Aberdeenshire. The route will be fully marked with busier junctions also marshalled by our team.

For the gravel routes, as the terrain is both on and offroad we recommend the use of gravel bikes/mountain bikes/cyclocross bikes or anything that can cope with some rough roads and cycle paths.
