Event Summary

Event Overview

The Lecht Mini-DH is a Downhill Race on a short course for younger riders aged 8 to 16 being hosted by Deeside Thistle Cycling Club.

The race aims to provide an introduction to downhill racing as well as being challenging to more experienced riders.

Uplift will be done via the Lecht chairlift. Any younger riders can be accompanied by an adult if required.

Any technical features that cannot be rolled will have both “A” & “B” lines. The “A” line will be the harder main line and “B” line will be the alternative.

The race will be run under British Cycling and Scottish Cycling Rules and the Mountain Bike Downhill specific regulations.

Age categories for both Male & Female will be as follows

Under 16/Youth (Year of birth 2007 & 2008)

Under 14/Juvenile (Year of birth 2009 & 2010)

Under 12 (Year of birth 2011 & 2012)

Under 10 (Year of birth 2013 & 2014)

Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd will be awarded.

Race Weekend Schedule

The following are approximate times, but we will do our best to keep to schedule.

Saturday

Course will be getting setup.

Track walk only

SUNDAY

Sign on opens                                     08:00 to 10:00

Course open for foot inspection          08:00 to 09:15

Uplift Commences                               09:00

Course opens for practice                   09:30 to 12:30

First Race runs begin                          13:00

Second Race runs begin                     14:30

Prize giving                                          16:00

Please note that a Full Face helmet MUST be worn at all times when you are on the downhill course.

Overnight parking is permitted at the Lecht on Saturday 17th.  Portable loos will be available.  The cafe will be open until 16:30, then will reopen on Sunday at 08:00.

Please take all litter home with you and keep dogs under control at all times.

Race Weekend Schedule

The following are approximate times, but we will do our best to keep to schedule.

Saturday

Course will be getting setup.

Track walk only

SUNDAY

Sign on opens                                     08:00 to 10:00

Course open for foot inspection          08:00 to 09:15

Uplift Commences                               09:00

Course opens for practice                   09:30 to 12:30

First Race runs begin                          13:00

Second Race runs begin                     14:30

Prize giving                                          16:00

Please note that a Full Face helmet MUST be worn at all times when you are on the downhill course.

Overnight parking is permitted at the Lecht on Saturday 17th.  Portable loos will be available.  The cafe will be open until 16:30, then will reopen on Sunday at 08:00.

Please take all litter home with you and keep dogs under control at all times.
