Welsh Cycling Youth Sprint Race Night #1

Event Summary

Event Overview

Racing will include a timed flying 200, match sprints and will finish with a 6 lap dash or longest lap competition (time allowing). These races are suitable for all riders and are a great introduction to racing and sprinting. The match sprints will be run in a ladder format so that you will always be racing people who qualify close to you in time.

 

Entry £5 per rider - these events for youth are subsidised by Welsh Cycling to allow more young riders to gain experience racing on the velodrome and try out the sprint events. Open to youth A, B and C riders.

 

Sign on will open at 18:00 and close strictly at 18:40. Riders briefing is at 18:45 and racing will start immediately the briefing closes. Attendance at the riders briefing is compulsory.

 

THERE WILL NOT BE ANY TRACK WARM UP FOLLOWING THE RIDERS BRIEFING TO ENABLE US TO RUN THIS EXTENDED PROGRAM.  PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO BRING ROLLERS ETC

 

The next youth Sprint race nights will be on 12th May and 16th June.

Info for Riders

ALL riders must have previous indoor track race experience. Coms and organiser can and will make changes to programme and riders groups if safety is a concern. Rider will be unable to race if the they show signs of dangerous riding. 

 

An efficient program relies on volunteers, officials AND riders being in the right place at the right time so please pay close attention to race briefings and timings.
