Event Overview
'ON YER BIKE' Upper Eden Rotary Club Ride, is a FUN EVENT DAY for all cyclists, whether cycle-club members, family and friends groups or individuals. We aim to encourage cycling as healthy exercise and enjoyablle leisure on any roadworthhy bike, including E-bikes for those who prefer a little assistancewith the more challenging hills.There are two distances, a 51.4km Challenge and a 28.4km Challenge. The area of the Westmorland Dales, is an unspoilt area of Natural Beauty.
The event is risk assessed, marshalled and signed appropriately. Last year 2022 was our first cycle event and proved popular with the riders and successful for the charities benefitting from entry fees, (primarily, Prostate Cancer UK and Upper Eden Rotary Club charities). We receive additional generous local sponsorship and thank all our sponsors for their valued support.
The event is managed by Upper Eden Rotary Club members and local volunteers from the community.

- START TIME Non-competitive staggered start 10:00am to 10:30am
- 50k ORTON LOOP Advance on-line entry £17.50 or 'on the day' £20.00. Under 14s must be accompanied by an adult.
- 27K CROSBY GARRETT LOOP Advance on line entry £8.50 or £10 'on the day'
- All under 14 year olds £5 for either distance
- Legal age for e-bike riders 14 years old
- All riders must wear a protective cycle helmet and observe the Highway Code
- Common sense and personal responsibility should always be the benchmark for all participating riders

- REFRESHMENTS: We have a first class pop-up refreshment community café on route for both routes at Crosby Garrett Hall, which proved a big success with riders last year - a welcome break for lunches, snacks and delicious cakes and baking treats (make sure to bring your contactless card or cash so as not to miss out.) This café is staffed by the local community volunteers for the village benefit.
