Event Overview

Full Gas Cycling are delighted to announce the return of Good Friday in 2023.

Good Friday Racing retains its unique, truly ‘open’ event status, welcoming entries from local clubs, elite development teams, and International riders, with everyone competing on a level playing field. The programme accommodates more than 100 riders and features sprint, endurance omnium and women's omnium events, and the world famous Golden Wheel scratch race. Over the years the event has been graced by Stuart O’Grady, Bradley Wiggins and Sean Yates amongst other super stars.

OPEN OMNIUM FORMAT

Riders will qualify for either Group 1 or Group 2. Omnium riders will be divided randomly into two groups with the first 12 riders from each group qualifying for group 1. The remaining riders will go into group 2. (Qualifying numbers are subject to change, depending on the number of entries.)

Riders who qualify for group 1 will get the chance to compete for the Golden Wheel trophy. Riders who qualify for group 2 will get the chance to compete for the Ron Beckett memorial trophy.

INFORMATION FOR RIDERS

Please read all event information before completing your race entries.

Entries will CLOSE on 24th March.

Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

We reserve the right to move a rider's group should the judges deem they have not been fully competitive in the qualifying heats.

Entry fees cannot be refunded once entries have been accepted.

Our events are run under British Cycling Technical Regulations and overseen by a team of British Cycling commissaires.

All participants must have a current FULL RACING LICENCE for their national federation (with a UCI number if not a BC member). British Cycling members are required to have gold or silver membership. Provisional licenses will not be accepted. Sign on for this event will use the Full Gas Cycling App please ensure you download this before the day. The race programme and live results will also be published on our app.

Riders compete at their own risk. All participants must have previous competitive experience.

INFORMATION FOR RIDERS

Please read all event information before completing your race entries.

Entries will CLOSE on 24th March.

Entries will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

We reserve the right to move a rider's group should the judges deem they have not been fully competitive in the qualifying heats.

Entry fees cannot be refunded once entries have been accepted.

Our events are run under British Cycling Technical Regulations and overseen by a team of British Cycling commissaires.

Riders compete at their own risk. All participants must have previous competitive experience.
