Event Overview

Cog Set are looking forward to hosting another year of our ever popular youth races at our closed circuit in Lancaster. There are races for all youth age groups, boys and girls and is suitable for new and experienced racers.

 

Online or on day entry. (Online £1 booking fee applies)

 

The circuit is easy to access off the new bypass road and there is plenty of track side parking.

 

A BC race licence is required or a day licence can be purchased on the day. Gears will need to be restricted for the appropriate age category (help can be provided if you're not sure).

 

This is a series competition with riders battling for overall podium positions. There is no podium presentation for each individual race.

 

Podium winners will be presented with trophies at the final race.  There are some fantastic prizes on offer including vouchers, medals and trophies!  Everyone that completes the league will come away with something.

Please note the following start times are subject to change. Races are mixed girls and boys and classes may be merged depending on numbers.

 

6.30 - D's and E's girls and boys (10 - 15 minutes)   6.50 - C girls and boys (30 minutes)   7.30 - A and B girls and boys (50 minutes max)


Please turn up in time to sign on and have your gears checked! Riders must have the correct gear restrictions for their age category -see https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/zuvvi/media/bc_files/volunteer/Youth_Gear_Restrictions_for_Riders.Parents.pdf for more information.


Cogset league scoring:

* this will be cumulative, the total of each rider's best 7 scores out of 10 events

* scoring is by age and gender category (ie first under 8 girl gets 10 points and first under 8 boy gets 10 points) regardless of the number of riders in each category:

1st place gets 10 points

2nd place gets 9 points

all the way down to 9th place, which gets 2 points

and all other finishers get 1 point

* participants must have ridden at least 7 events to be eligible for a prize at the end of the series.

 

* No separate league entry, all racers automatically in the league

 

Ties on league standing points: the number of highest positions will break the tie, then next highest etc.
