Harrogate Nova Reliability Ride 2023

Reliability Trial , Harrogate – Sunday, 22 Jan 2023

Event Summary

Event Overview

The Reliability Ride offer a 100km long route starting and finishing at Prologue Performance Cycling in Harrogate.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO COLD WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE MEDIUM ROUTE HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND THE LONG ROUTE AMENDED TO USE SAFER A & B ROADS.

REVISED 100KM ROUTE: Nova Reliability Ride 2023 - Main Roads - A bike ride in Harrogate, England (ridewithgps.com)

Riders are advised to note the following risks:

1) Weather conditions are very cold and riders must wear cold weather clothing and carry sufficient food and drink. The route remains 100km in length and has a brief high point at 72-82km. If you are tiring or feeling the cold, Boroughbridge is a good point to reduce the length of your ride and make your own way back to the start point via Minskip and Knaresbrough.

2) The main fast descents on the route are located at 72, 81 and 92km respectively. Riders must exercise high caution on all fast descents.

3) The turn to Harewood at 14km and subsequent climb is on a normally busy road so please be considerate of other road users.

4) Consider your fellow riders and offer assistance where needed in cold conditions.

5) Equip your bike with lights as small patches of fog are common on cold days.

Finally, a reminder that this is a non-competitive event. Ride safely and considerately at all times. Remember that the use of safer, gritted roads means more vehicles so never rider more than 2 abreast and single file as appropriate.

This ride is part of the "Terrific Ten" series ran by local clubs and promoters. Challenge yourself to a tough off season event series. You can read more here:
