Christmas Turkey Relay

Cyclo-Cross , Isle of Man – Sunday, 18 Dec 2022

Event Summary

Event Overview

The Cycle 360 MTB Series’ team is helping local cycling club, Manx Viking Wheelers put on a special Christmas charity bike race this December, historically known as the ‘Rigid Turkey’. The Christmas Turkey Relay on Sunday 18th December at Nobles Park is an off-road bike event with cyclo-cross traditions and includes super-fun obstacles and purpose-built features, which may require riders to dismount at times during the lap.

Who can enter? YOU can! ALL off-road bikes are welcome, including full-suspension mountain bikes. Sorry, we can’t allow e-bikes at this time. Sign up as a solo and we’ll partner you up with a team-mate, for a one lap-on, one lap-off relay race.

Where is it taking place? Join us at Nobles Park, Douglas on Sunday 18th December morning (exact timings TBC) as a spectator or rider, for guaranteed FUN. Plenty of parking available and toilet facilities too.

How does the relay part work? After you enter as a solo, our organisers will be teaming up pairs to compete in the Christmas Turkey Relay race. You’ll individually do one lap on, and one lap off, alternating so one of you are always on the course. The race will typically take approx 1-hour, so expect a MUDDY face upon finishing.

This is a charity event! The small fee you will be charged on British Cycling to enter will go towards the James Berry Fund, minus the small percentage BC takes as an administration charge. This is an event run wholly by volunteers with ZERO funds going to Manx Viking Wheelers.

Is there a prize for the winning pair?! Of course we have prizes! The winning pair will receive a Christmas Turkey (of course), plus we’ve got an enormous trophy for the winning mixed pair as well as other awards for spot prizes awarded on the day.
