JUNIORS, YOUTH A, B & C

Youth A U16 born 2006 or 2007, Youth B U14 born 2008 or 2009,  Youth C U12 born 2010 or 2011

3 Groups
Level 1 - Novice riders - New to riding a fixed gear bike on an indoor velodrome
Level 2 - Intermediate Track riders - Riders looking to gain more experience/track time on an indoor track
Level 3 - Experienced Track riders 

Event promoted by British Cycling Go-Ride Eastern and South-East Regions in conjunction with British Cycling Talent Development Team.

Riders will be split into ability groups on the day.  Riders may be moved between groups by coaches depending upon their experience.

For this session, groups will work on general track drills and techniques, as well as introducing any novice first-time riders to the track.

Open only to Youth A,B, C and Junior riders.

Riders must be aged 10-18.

Booking is available ONLINE ONLY

If this session is the riders first session of the winter they must bring a parental consent form.

Info for Riders

Entry is limited and available on a first-come first-served basis for riders who are youth A/B or Junior in 2022/23. We will aim to place riders into appropriate ability groups based on their level of experience, from beginner to experienced.

Entry is online ONLY, no entries will be accepted on the day

6.15pm Arrival - Sign-on opens 
6.45pm Sign-on close
6.55pm Rider briefing from coach

Riders should bring enough food and drink to last the duration of the training session. As usual, we will run short blocks of 10-15 minutes duration to allow time for recovery, feedback and re-fuelling.

Please don't forget to bring your helmet, cycle mitts (as these must be worn) and shoes. 

Lee Valley Velodrome Bike Hire:
Bike and shoe hire is available directly from the venue/venue staff from £8.00 per bike and shoe hire from £7.00. We recommend checking with the venue in advance that a correctly sized bike is available. Hire bikes come with Look Keo's/Flat pedals with straps fitted and cannot be changed over. Saddle height can be adjusted without the use of tools.

If you, or anyone in your household is shielding or displaying and covid-19 symptoms please do not attend this session.  For further information: Coronavirus (Covid-19) - NHS

  • Please stay in your designated chair and keep your area clear.
  • Do not share equipment.
  • Your own equipment should be clean and sanitised before you use it.
  • Hire Bikes will be available from the venue.
