Rozelle Summer Cross

Cyclo-Cross , Ayr – Saturday, 13 Aug 2022

Event Summary

Event Overview

The Rozelle Summer Cross is a promotion of Ayr Burners Cycling QTS. We are grateful to South Ayrshire Council who have granted us permission to host the races at Rozelle Park.

In 2021 we ran our postponed Doonbank Trofee in midsummer and enjoyed the format enough to repeat it.

We are proud to be working with Scottish Disability Sports Cycling to host competitions for II1 athletes.

The event will feature six races across the afternoon, evening, all with max capacity fields and short courses to guarantee good racing!

Ride 1: Under 12 fun ride (15mins) - FREE to ENTER

Race 2: SDS event 1 (15mins) - Entry on the day

Race 3:  Race 2: Youth A/B (u16) (30mins)

Race 4:  Come and try event (30 mins)

Race 5: Women / Junior (40 mins)

Race 6: Open race (50 mins)

Bubble 3: Open category (45mins)

To ensure the racing and enjoyable, a short course format will be used with an estimated lap time of 4minutes, on a course expected to run much faster in the 'dry' summer.    However, expect some of the usual trademark features including Belgian Steps and the 'Rope Run'.

Due to the limited capacity at the event, priority will be made to Scottish Cycling South West member clubs.

U12s will be invited to participated in a fun-run style event where the course will be open for 20minutes and a medal will be presented to all participants.  This will not be a competitive event. All U12 riders should register via the link on www.ayrburners.org in advance of the event.
