Heckington - now in its 153rd Year!

Records show that the first cycle race was held at Heckington Show in 1869 which appears to make Heckington the oldest bike race in the UK, if not the world!

The Grass Meeting remains a valued and entertaining part of the show weekend. With a well established 300m track in the Show's main event ring, in front of the large grandstand, it brings grass track racing and the competitors right to the forefront of the show visitors' attention. The "big show" feel and a generous prize list always makes for good racing.

For 2022 and "post pandemic" the show itself will return to the traditional 2-days. This means that the grass track meeting will also return to its more conventional programme with the Go-ride Club Championship followed by the individual race meeting for men and women.

Heckington is very proud to be hosting the 2022 British Cycling National 800metre Championship for Women as well as a round of the BC National Short Distance League.

Entries are welcome from Men and Women, both Seniors & Juniors. The Go-ride Club Championship is invitation only.

The closing date is strictly four weeks before the event, with no exceptions.

No entries will be accepted after 23.55 on 1st July or on the day.

Exact race timings are yet to be decided but will start at 11.00 and finish by 18.00. The final programme will be sent out the week before the event.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Entries are welcome from Men and Women, both Seniors & Juniors. The Go-ride Club Championship is invitation only.

The closing date is strictly four weeks before the event, with no exceptions.

No entries will be accepted after 23.55 on 1st July or on the day.

Exact race timings are yet to be decided but will start at 11.00 and finish by 18.00. The final programme will be sent out the week before the event.
