East Midlands Go-Ride Track Cluster - hosted by LFCC

Go-Ride , Derby – Sunday, 20 Nov 2022

Event Summary

Event Overview

Track cycling training and development session for riders aged 9-16 who are members of British Cycling affiliated clubs in the East Midlands.  Entries from West Midlands clubs will be accepted one week prior to the event if spaces are available.  See "Info for Riders" for more details.

When entering please select the correct grouping for yourself based on previous sessions attended or in a more advanced group only if instructed to do so by a cluster session coach. If you are still unsure, please contact the event organiser before booking on to the event as entries for the Advanced and Intermediate groups will not be accepted if a coach has not previously approved the rider moving up and we will not guarantee to move the rider to the correct group as riders who enter in the correct group will be prioritised.

Groups may be re-organised by coaches on the day depending on ability and experience of riders.

About the Event

Info for Riders

Please read carefully!

Application for a ride - note that these cluster sessions can often "sell out" for novice and intermediate groups.  When you click the "Enter" button, I can't guarantee that you will get an allocated place at the event.  I will allocate available places according to the priorities described below, but otherwise on a first-come-first-served basis.

Please only enter for the Intermediate or Advanced groups if you have been advised by a cluster coach that you are ready for that group. If you apply for the wrong group you may not be able to ride at all. Coaches will not allow riders in their group who are not ready, this is for the safety of all riders in their group. We will try to move you if there is space, but if a group is full the riders who applied for the correct group will have priority.

Acceptance - Priority for acceptance to this event will initially go to riders from the clubs that are providing volunteers to deliver the session.  I will then give priority to the East Midlands Cluster clubs that have a track record of organising and providing coaches for Cluster Sessions.  I will then allocate places to riders from the remaining West Midlands Cluster clubs.

East Midlands Cluster clubs are: Matlock , VC Lincoln, Leicester Forest, Mansfield Tri, Witham Wheelers, Beeston RC, Derby Mercury, Ilkeston, NEL GR, Welland Valley, Lincsquad, Lincoln Wheelers, Heanor and Melton

OR

West Midlands Cluster clubs are: Newport Shropshire, Redditch, Solihull, Halesowen, Stratford, Lyme, Lichfield, Mid Shropshire Wheelers, Beacon Roads CC, Wolverhampton, Kettering CC, Milton Keynes.

If riders from those clubs don't take all available spaces by one week to go we will accept applications from riders who are members of Go-Ride clubs outside the region. Preference will be given to riders from clubs within the Derby Track Cluster scheme.

Riders will then be accepted, in order of entry date, for unfilled spaces in each ability group. (For example, the first entered Intermediate rider would take priority over an earlier entered Novice rider if there was space in Intermediate, but not Novice. Hope that makes sense?).

To be clear, East Midlands riders will have no priority over riders from other Clusters after the one week cut off, so the onus is on them to enter before this date. Even then, acceptance is not guaranteed as groups may fill with East Mids riders who entered earlier.

Acceptance remains at the discretion of the organiser.  We reserve the right to alter the size and number of ability groups at any time.

Bike/Shoe Hire - Bike/shoe hire is included in the entry fee. If you have shoes fitted with Look Keo cleats, please bring them along. There may be limited supply of hire bikes in some sizes, necessitating the sharing of bikes between riders in different groups. Therefore, if you have your own track bike, or access to a club loan bike it will be worthwhile bringing them.  Please note that if you are bringing a new to you track bike to the session or if you have changed the tyres on your bike please make yourself known to the coach who will advise you accordingly.

Novice Riders - please let us know the level of track riding experience. This is because we may split the group into those with some experience and complete novices.

Age - Riders must be aged from 9 to 16 years on the date of the event.

Important - Please bring a completed Parental Consent Form. If you need to download one, go to
